Heartwood began as a furniture studio in Peterborough.

Our understanding of traditional joinery and hand tools allows us to create pieces of furniture that are built to last.
A desire to control all aspects of our craft resulted in a venture into lumber milling. We work with local arborists in Peterborough and the surrounding areas to convert felled trees into useable lumber. Whenever possible, we use our own locally sourced lumber in our furniture projects. Our clients often have great pride in this detail as they enjoy a piece of Heartwood furniture in their home.
